Senior Scientist R&D (Molecular Biology)

Salary: $116,800–$146,000 USD annually, plus performance incentive bonus and long-term equity awards

What you will do

• Plan, design, and execute laboratory research supporting liquid biopsy-based early cancer detection products.
• Advance nucleic acid diagnostic tests through feasibility testing, protocol development, optimization, and transfer to Development.
• Plan and manage project timelines, deliverables, research progress, and documentation under a Quality Management System.
• Design and execute high-complexity experiments, generate new ideas, and apply independent scientific judgment.
• Coordinate experiment execution and analysis with Statistics, Bioinformatics, Data Science, Engineering, Translational Science, Product, Operations, and Program Management teams.
• Perform basic data analysis using R, JMP, and Excel; communicate progress and may manage research associates.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in molecular biology, genomics, biochemistry, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 5–8 years of industry experience, or 2+ years of post-doctoral research and 3+ years of industry experience.
• Extensive experience designing, executing, and analyzing next-generation sequencing (NGS) and DNA molecular biology experiments, including problem solving.
• Track record of originating, developing, and/or productizing novel nucleic acid and multiomic workflows and tests.
• Strong research skills with a history of innovation and scientific accomplishment.
• Excellent communication, organizational, record-keeping, planning, time-management, and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated success applying independent scientific judgment to experimental design and analysis.
• Completion and maintenance of required HIPAA/PHI privacy, general policy and procedure, compliance, security, and hirify.global training requirements.

Nice to have

• Cancer research experience.
• Experience with epigenetic or methylation analysis, target capture or enrichment, WGS, or proteomics.
• cfDNA experience.
• Experience with laboratory automation.
• Ability to write clear plans, reports, and SOPs.
