Senior Accountant - Accounting Services (SAP)

Location: Hybrid in Sydney, Melbourne or Adelaide, with 3 days per week in the office

What you will do

• Maintain the accuracy and completeness of the general ledger and deliver timely Record to Report activities.
• Manage month-end close activities, including journals, reconciliations, reporting packages and OneStream submissions.
• Provide technical accounting guidance for complex retail activities and oversee selected high-risk balance-sheet reconciliations.
• Support SAP ERP testing, defect management, post-go-live enhancements and new finance processes.
• Transition accounting knowledge and processes to the offshore team, providing direction, coaching and capability development.
• Identify and implement opportunities for automation, simplification, standardisation and process optimisation.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of progressive experience in finance, shared services or global business services.
• Experience with retail accounting activities, business partnering, influencing and stakeholder engagement.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA, Great Plains or Dynamics 365.
• Professional accounting qualification such as CA, CPA or CIMA.
• Experience with process optimisation, change management and embedding new capabilities.
• Ability to work from Sydney, Melbourne or Adelaide with 3 days in the office.

• Experience working with an offshore or outsourced shared-services delivery model.
• Experience delivering finance technology programmes, including SAP ERP implementations.
• Experience with retail-related accounting activities.
