TL;DR

Site Reliability Engineer (Media): Maintaining and optimizing cloud networking and infrastructure for NBC's Direct-to-Consumer platforms with an accent on automation, observability, and system resiliency. Focus on designing multi-region fault-tolerant systems, managing infrastructure as code, and driving DevOps culture within the Global Video Engineering team.

Location: Must be based in New York, NY; hybrid schedule requires 4 days per week in the office.

Salary: $100,000 - $160,000 yearly.

What you will do

• Collaborate with engineering teams to implement cloud networking, monitoring, and infrastructure requirements.
• Design and deliver infrastructure as code to improve service availability, scalability, and latency.
• Develop methodologies for safe deployments, including chaos testing and automated infrastructure changes.
• Build cloud-agnostic solutions and architect custom software to support production environments.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and provide support for production issue remediation.
• Drive DevOps culture and provide consultancy to delivery teams across the organization.

Requirements

• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a relevant field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a DevOps or SRE role.
• Demonstrated experience with large-scale 24/7 production environments.
• Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), containerization (Kubernetes, Docker), and IaC (Terraform, Ansible).
• Strong networking knowledge (Load Balancing, VPC, Subnetting) and Linux system administration.

Nice to have

• Experience with digital media direct-to-consumer businesses.
• Certifications in AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Strong communication skills for technical and executive stakeholders.
