Senior Business Intelligence Developer

TL;DR

Senior Business Intelligence Developer (SQL/BI): Create reports, metrics, dashboards, data models, data-marts, and cubes while gathering requirements and documenting process flows for healthcare and business service lines. Focus on building automated BI assets for Coding, Billing, Bad Debt, Payments, Revenue, and Customer Service data with an accent on dimensional modeling, data visualization, and reliable analytics delivery.

Location: Troy, MI (Hybrid) — Onsite 1 day a week and 4 days remote (M–F)

What you will do

• Build reports, metrics, tools, data models, data-marts, cubes, and dashboards; document process flows to fulfill service line data needs.
• Gather detailed requirements via a central intake process and identify existing analytics solutions.
• Develop reports aligned with yearly Playbook initiatives.
• Create automated tools, reports, dashboards, data models, and analyses for Coding, Billing, Bad Debt, Payments, Revenue, Customer Service, and related domains.
• Maintain code repositories in an SCM system (e.g., MS TFS), including branching, staging, and code commenting.

Requirements

• 3–4 years of experience in a healthcare or business setting.
• Expertise in advanced Excel, SQL, report building, tool development, requirements gathering, and technical documentation.
• Experience with relational databases, data models, data visualizations, curated datasets, data cubes, and/or EMR report development (Epic, Cerner, McKesson, or other EMRs).
• Basic understanding of statistical and machine learning concepts.
• Basic understanding of dimensional models and data warehouse and/or EMR systems.
• Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Cognos, Looker, Toad, Minitab, Power BI, Qlik, SSRS, or similar.
