is building a cloud-hosted version of DuckDB to unify local development with cloud operations for data practitioners.
What you will do
- Own and evolve the Kubernetes platform, including cluster architecture, upgrades, multi-tenancy, and workload isolation.
- Build and maintain infrastructure components using Go and Python across compute, networking, and storage.
- Design and improve CI/CD pipelines to enable safe and fast software delivery.
- Implement observability tooling and dashboards (Prometheus, Grafana) to improve system health and oncall effectiveness.
- Automate K8s operational workflows to reduce manual intervention and increase consistency.
- Collaborate with product and backend teams to embed operational best practices into development.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience operating Kubernetes clusters in production environments.
- Experience with cloud-native infrastructure, specifically AWS and Terraform.
- Proficiency in Go and/or Python for designing secure, scalable, and maintainable systems.
- Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry.
- Strong sense of ownership and a pragmatic approach to engineering tradeoffs.
- Must be based in or able to work from the Seattle, San Francisco, or New York offices.
