TL;DR

Head Technical Artist (Gamedev): Leading the technical art department and defining visual pipelines for a mobile life simulator with an accent on performance optimization, shader complexity, and procedural content generation. Focus on building scalable automation tools, mentoring leads, and ensuring technical integrity across all art disciplines.

Location: Must be based in or able to work from Almaty, Tbilisi, or Yerevan (Hybrid/Onsite)

What you will do

  • Define the technical vision and ensure graphical content meets performance and quality standards.
  • Build and maintain production pipelines across environment, character, VFX, and UI teams.
  • Collaborate with gameplay engineers to evaluate technical risks from early feature design to runtime.
  • Implement systemic optimizations for CPU/GPU bottlenecks and memory management.
  • Drive automation by developing custom tools, exporters, and procedural systems.
  • Structure the Tech Art department, mentor leads, and foster an autonomous team culture.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Head or Lead Technical Artist with shipped projects.
  • Deep expertise in real-time graphics, rendering pipelines, and shader complexity.
  • Experience designing technical solutions in partnership with systems and tools engineers.
  • Hands-on experience building scalable automation tools and validation workflows.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring team members to lead levels.
  • Ability to align technical implementation costs with product business value.

Nice to have

  • Multiplatform experience including PC and Console.
  • Production-ready experience with procedural content generation (PCG) systems.
  • Proven experience building custom profiling workflows on large-scale projects.
