What you will do

• Oversee the full lifecycle of Oracle RDS instances, including provisioning, patching, and configuration.
• Serve as the primary subject matter expert for development teams on AWS and Oracle best practices.
• Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and perform advanced tuning of complex SQL queries.
• Design and implement secure, scalable, and resilient database solutions using AWS networking constructs.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python or Bash to streamline routine database tasks.
• Define and test robust backup and recovery strategies to meet RPO and RTO objectives.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience managing Oracle databases on Amazon RDS.
• Deep knowledge of Oracle Database architecture (12c/19c) and AWS infrastructure (VPC, IAM, CloudWatch).
• Mastery of Oracle RMAN and RDS snapshot/point-in-time recovery mechanisms.
• Proficiency in Python or Bash for automation.
• Familiarity with SRE principles and SLO monitoring.
