What you will do
- Oversee the full lifecycle of Oracle RDS instances, including provisioning, patching, and configuration.
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert for development teams on AWS and Oracle best practices.
- Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and perform advanced tuning of complex SQL queries.
- Design and implement secure, scalable, and resilient database solutions using AWS networking constructs.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python or Bash to streamline routine database tasks.
- Define and test robust backup and recovery strategies to meet RPO and RTO objectives.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience managing Oracle databases on Amazon RDS.
- Deep knowledge of Oracle Database architecture (12c/19c) and AWS infrastructure (VPC, IAM, CloudWatch).
- Mastery of Oracle RMAN and RDS snapshot/point-in-time recovery mechanisms.
- Proficiency in Python or Bash for automation.
- Familiarity with SRE principles and SLO monitoring.
