Program Manager (Space)

TL;DR

Program Manager (Space): Leading and managing the development of Ground Segment solutions for next-generation satellite constellations with an accent on complex, multidisciplinary project coordination. Focus on managing system definition, architecture, and delivery of critical mission control and data processing capabilities.

Location: Must be based in or able to relocate to Darmstadt or Gilching, Germany. Hybrid work model with 8 weeks of remote work per year outside the usual geographical area.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end development of Ground Segment projects from definition to operational transition.
• Coordinate technical activities across engineering teams, customers, and subcontractors.
• Manage project cost, schedule, quality, and risks throughout the lifecycle.
• Drive technical decision-making to align customer requirements with engineering solutions.
• Ensure delivery of critical capabilities including Mission Control, Flight Dynamics, and Ground Station Networks.
• Foster collaboration across international and multidisciplinary teams.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to relocate to Germany.
• Background in Aerospace Engineering, Project Management, or Systems Engineering.
• Experience managing large-scale projects, preferably with budgets exceeding €10M.
• Knowledge and experience applying ECSS or related industry standards.
• Experience in managing subcontractors and external partners.
• Ability to coordinate multiple development teams across the organization.

Nice to have

• PMP or similar project management certification.
• Experience working on defense projects.
• Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
