TL;DR
Cybersecurity Engineer (DoD): Designing and managing security solutions for government information systems with an accent on NIST SP 800 controls and the ARES Authority to Operate (ATO) workstream. Focus on implementing Zero Trust architectures, authoring System Security Plans, and managing POA&Ms for DoD networks.
Location: Remote (Must hold active U.S. Government Secret clearance)

What you will do
- Design and implement security architectures, controls, and technologies for government information systems.
- Own the ARES Authority to Operate (ATO) workstream, implementing and monitoring the NIST SP 800 security control set.
- Author System Security Plans (SSP) and maintain the Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M).
- Lead vulnerability assessments, penetration testing support, and security engineering reviews.
- Implement Zero Trust, ICAM federation, and endpoint security solutions.
- Respond to security incidents, conduct forensic analysis, and coordinate remediation efforts.
Requirements
- Active U.S. Government Secret clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience as an ISSO or Security Engineer on DoD IL-4 or IL-5 ATO.
- Working knowledge of NIST SP 800 and experience with control inheritance from FedRAMP-authorized platforms.
- Hands-on experience with security tooling such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, and vulnerability management.
- Professional certification: CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CISM.
Nice to have
- Active U.S. Government Top Secret clearance.
- Experience with DoD IL5/IL6 environments or security programs.
- Expertise in DAF Zero Trust architecture implementation.
- Experience with Salesforce Shield (Platform Encryption, Event Monitoring, Audit Trail).
