TL;DR
Software Engineer - Back End (.NET/C#): Developing Farfetch's e-commerce platform and evolving its marketplace with an accent on backend technologies, REST APIs, databases, performance, and security. Focus on building scalable services with .NET Core, SQL Server, NoSQL databases, Kafka, Redis, and Elasticsearch while applying software architecture, testing, and Agile practices.

Location: Porto, Portugal; hybrid workplace

What you will do

  • Contribute to the development of the e-commerce platform and the evolution of the marketplace.
  • Build backend applications using .NET Core, C#, REST APIs, and modern web technologies.
  • Apply software architecture principles, design patterns, performance practices, and security measures.
  • Work with SQL Server, MongoDB, Cassandra, Kafka, Redis, and Elasticsearch.
  • Participate in an Agile/Scrum environment focused on delivery and continuous software improvement.

Requirements

  • Experience programming with object-oriented languages.
  • Knowledge of unit and integration testing.
  • Knowledge of SQL and experience with relational databases, preferably SQL Server.
  • Knowledge of REST APIs, NoSQL databases, and SOA architecture.
  • Experience with Scrum methodologies.
  • Proficient written and spoken English; the role is based in Porto with hybrid attendance.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of Java.
  • Experience with Docker and AKS.
