TL;DR
Senior Software Engineer (Perception) (AI/ML): Develop and optimize deep learning and machine learning perception solutions for long-range multi-sensor detection and degraded sensor scenarios, and deploy them onto a real-time autonomous vehicle platform with an accent on end-to-end autonomy (detection, tracking, action recognition, semantic understanding) and scaling ML engineering pipelines. Focus on diagnosing failure modes from on-road and simulated testing and guiding software from prototype to production for robust, well-tested systems.

What you will do
- Research and develop state-of-the-art deep learning and ML models for perception under challenging scenarios (e.g., long-range multi-sensor detection, degraded sensors).
- Work on end-to-end autonomy perception tasks including object detection, traffic actor tracking, action recognition, and semantic understanding.
- Guide software development from prototype to production deployment on a real-time AV platform using large-scale datasets for training and analysis.
- Collaborate to diagnose, analyze, and resolve failure modes found during on-road and simulated testing.
- Build and scale robust ML pipelines to enable quick experimentation and large-scale training and testing.
Requirements
- BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering, or a related field with strong ML foundations (deep learning, computer vision, recursive state estimation, structured prediction, optimization).
- 6+ years of research-based or professional experience with C++ and Python.
- Strong understanding of linear algebra, discrete/continuous optimization, supervised/unsupervised methods, and generative/discriminative models.
- Strong publication record in top-tier robotics/computer vision conferences/journals, or significant industry experience in robotics/computer vision/self-driving.
Nice to have
- Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Advanced production-level knowledge of C++.
- Experience applying computer vision and ML directly to complex robotics problems and deploying at scale across physical fleets.
- Experience with 3D data (3D object detection, tracking, semantic segmentation, or point cloud processing from LiDAR/Radar/multi-camera).
