VP, Commercial Real Estate Originations

Location: Atlanta, GA; frequent travel throughout the assigned territory is required.

Annual base salary: $200,000–$230,000 USD, plus potential incentive opportunities.

What you will do

• Develop and execute the regional commercial mortgage origination strategy to meet production, yield, portfolio, and risk-adjusted return objectives.
• Lead a team of 4–5 mortgage originators, analysts, and support professionals, including recruiting, coaching, mentoring, and performance development.
• Source, underwrite, structure, approve, and close commercial mortgage loans, including core, bridge, mezzanine, construction, participating, and other structured products.
• Review underwriting analyses, loan structures, investment committee memoranda, due diligence, valuations, and risk assessments.
• Build relationships with borrowers, developers, mortgage bankers, brokers, institutional partners, and other industry participants across the assigned territory.
• Present investment recommendations to senior management and investment committees and represent the organization in commercial real estate and institutional lending communities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required. An MBA, MSRE, or similar advanced designation is preferred.
• At least 15 years of experience in commercial real estate finance, mortgage lending, or institutional investment.
• Proven experience originating and closing significant commercial mortgage loan volume across multiple debt products, including core, bridge, construction, mezzanine, and similar products.
• Ability to identify and execute high-yielding opportunistic debt transactions with complicated structures.
• Demonstrated experience managing originators, underwriters, or investment professionals.
• Extensive knowledge of commercial real estate markets, underwriting, valuation, risk management, and loan structuring.
• Strong understanding of debt capital markets and relative value across investment alternatives.
• Exceptional leadership, team-building, organizational, negotiation, relationship management, verbal, written, and presentation skills, including experience presenting to investment committees and senior leadership.
