Associate Producer (News)

TL;DR

Associate Producer (News): Producing and editing content for a live daily news program with an accent on editorial accuracy, video production, and tight deadline management. Focus on collaborating with anchors and correspondents to research, write, and deliver compelling news segments in a fast-paced control room environment.

Location: Must be based in New York, New York. This position is hybrid, requiring a minimum of four days per week in the office.

Salary: $75,000 - $85,000

What you will do

• Edit video packages and graphic elements for live shows under tight deadlines.
• Collaborate with producers and correspondents to research and write strong editorial copy.
• Pitch timely and compelling ideas for daily and future segments.
• Perform quality checks on all video content.
• Maintain communication with senior producers regarding daily news developments.
• Work a consistent 6am-2pm ET, Monday – Friday shift.

Requirements

• Must be willing and able to work in New York, New York.
• 2+ years of experience in broadcast, streaming, or cable news.
• Proficiency in digital video editing.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Ability to work calmly under intense deadlines.
• Strong journalistic writing and research skills.

Nice to have

• Experience shooting in the field with DSLR cameras.
• Proficiency in Avid and Premiere editing software.
• Familiarity with iNEWS.
• Thorough knowledge of current events.
