What you will do

• Advise on the creation and deployment of AI and data-driven products, ensuring compliance with global regulations throughout the product lifecycle.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Data Science teams to integrate responsible AI frameworks into new initiatives.
• Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial contracts focused on AI, data governance, and privacy.
• Translate technical functionalities into legal terms for external partners and stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain internal policies, risk assessment procedures, and training materials for AI and data governance.
• Conduct systematic internal audits to identify and mitigate legal, privacy, and cybersecurity risks.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) or international equivalent with current admission to the Bar in good standing.
• 5-10 years of relevant legal experience in law firms or in-house departments for technology companies.
• At least 5 years of experience in product counseling involving data use, automation, or machine learning.
• At least 2 years of experience advising on legal issues related to artificial intelligence or algorithmic decision-making.
• Deep knowledge of global data protection regulations including GDPR, EU AI Act, and US state AI laws.
• Proven ability to simplify complex technical issues for non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Background in computer engineering, computer science, or data science.
• Experience in the consumer packaged goods or data analytics industry.
• Experience with patent strategy or IP licensing in AI or software.
• AIGP or CIPP certification.
