Senior Software Engineer

TL;DR

Senior Software Engineer (TypeScript/React/Next.js): Building and improving platform tools and systems that enable developer productivity across Fandango and Rotten Tomatoes, with an accent on end-to-end feature ownership, scalable backend services and APIs, and reliable production operations. Focus on designing and shipping full-stack platform enhancements, instrumenting services with logging/metrics/tracing, and managing deployments via CI/CD with staged rollouts.

What you will do

• Own features end-to-end: technical design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Build and maintain internal tools and platforms that improve developer productivity across engineering teams.
• Develop backend services, APIs, and data models to support platform capabilities and scale across multiple properties.
• Create frontend interfaces for internal tooling using React and Next.js.
• Partner with product managers and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Collaborate with Platform, Infrastructure, and SRE teams on reliability, observability, incident response, and operational handoffs.

Requirements

• 5+ years of full-stack development with strong proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript.
• Strong frontend experience with React, state management, and responsive design.
• Solid backend experience building and maintaining services, APIs, and database systems.
• Experience with CI environments and testing best practices (unit, integration, e2e).
• Proven ability to architect scalable, secure, and maintainable applications.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and infrastructure-as-code tools.

Nice to have

• Experience with high-traffic platforms and internal developer tooling at scale.
• Knowledge of event-driven architecture and distributed systems.
• Security experience (OAuth, JWT, encryption, secure data handling).
• Experience with message queues (Kafka, SQS, RabbitMQ) and asynchronous processing.
• Experience with observability (logging, metrics, tracing, alerting) and feature flags/progressive rollouts.
• Experience using AI coding tools and evaluating AI-generated code for correctness, security, and maintainability.
