What you will do

• Design and build a customer-facing metric store for high-volume telemetry data.
• Develop scalable backend services and APIs for ingestion, storage, and query execution.
• Optimize data modeling and storage patterns for time-series data, including cardinality and retention strategies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate storage capabilities into broader product experiences.
• Analyze and improve system performance, ingestion throughput, and operational reliability.
• Coach junior engineers and champion the full software development lifecycle.

Requirements

• Must be able to comply with U.S. government security requirements for access to FedRAMP-authorized systems, which may include U.S. citizenship.
• Strong experience building backend services in complex, large-scale distributed systems.
• Proficiency in writing clean, maintainable production code, preferably in Node.js and TypeScript.
• Experience building SaaS platforms, observability systems, or high-volume cloud services.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, Linux, networking, and cloud infrastructure (AWS).
• Experience with storage systems, query performance, and data lifecycle management.

Nice to have

• Experience with observability concepts (metrics, labels, cardinality, PromQL).
• Familiarity with systems such as ClickHouse, Prometheus, Mimir, Thanos, VictoriaMetrics, OpenTelemetry, Kafka, or Kinesis.
• Experience with testing frameworks (Mocha, Jest, Cypress) and CI/CD pipelines.
