What you will do

• Define, maintain, and prioritize the roadmap and backlog for the managed Kafka platform.
• Drive adoption of event streaming by simplifying onboarding and enhancing self-service capabilities.
• Partner with engineers and architects to improve developer experience and reduce friction in user journeys.
• Coordinate with vendors (Axual) and internal teams to implement OAuth integration, observability, and cost optimization.
• Translate business needs, compliance expectations, and technical requirements into clear delivery outcomes.

Requirements

• Experience as a Product Owner in a technical environment.
• Background in DevOps, platform engineering, middleware, or infrastructure.
• Understanding of event streaming, distributed systems, and integration concepts.
• Proven ability to manage backlogs in complex environments where reliability, security, and compliance are critical.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Must be based in or able to work hybrid in Utrecht, NL.

Nice to have

• Direct experience with Kafka platforms or managed Kafka services.
• Familiarity with access management, ACLs, OAuth, and platform compliance.
• Experience with Axual or similar event-streaming vendors.
• Experience improving developer platforms and self-service tools.
