What you will do
- Own high-severity, cross-layer customer incidents from initial signal to resolution.
- Perform deep-dive debugging across the full stack, including edge, network, DNS, and application layers.
- Build proactive monitoring, detection, and diagnostic capabilities in partnership with Product Engineering.
- Develop AI-native tooling and agents to automate incident analysis and reduce toil.
- Drive measurable improvements in reliability metrics like error rates and resolution times.
- Collaborate with Product Engineering to influence product architecture and documentation based on customer-facing insights.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in SRE, escalation engineering, or systems operations, with at least 2 years in customer-facing roles.
- Strong foundation in TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, TLS, and BGP routing protocols.
- Proficiency with observability tools like Wireshark, Kibana, Elasticsearch, and Grafana.
- Strong scripting skills in Bash and Python for automation and tooling.
- Experience with incident management, postmortem culture, and SLO/SLI frameworks.
- Must be based in or able to work from Lisbon, Portugal.
Nice to have
- Expert-level Linux command-line proficiency.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Pulumi) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Background in applying AI/ML to production engineering workflows.
- Experience with cloud networking across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
