TL;DR

Senior Hardware Integration Test Engineer (Aerospace): Designing, building, and maintaining hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) testbeds for advanced satellite systems with an accent on flight-representative hardware integration and system reliability. Focus on diagnosing complex hardware/software failures, developing test automation tooling, and ensuring testbed readiness for mission-critical satellite operations.

Location: Must be based in San Francisco, CA (Onsite). U.S. Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee Status Required.

Salary: $150,000 - $215,000 USD

What you will do

  • Own the full lifecycle of flatsat and HITL testbed builds from design to procurement and software bring-up.
  • Design and coordinate custom harnessing needs with manufacturing teams.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex hardware and software failures across firmware, flight software, and physical components.
  • Drive testbed architecture decisions and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Develop automation tooling to improve testbed observability and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure testbeds are flight-representative.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee Status required for export compliance.
  • Bachelors degree in EE, AE, CS or equivalent background.
  • 2-5+ years of experience in hardware integration, systems bring-up, or test engineering.
  • Proficiency in Python for test automation and Linux command line tools.
  • Experience with embedded systems, laboratory hardware (logic analyzers, oscilloscopes), and version control (git).
  • Ability to read schematics and debug circuits interfacing with embedded software.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with flight software architectures, telemetry systems, or simulation frameworks.
  • Experience with networked lab infrastructure, Kubernetes, or Linux system administration.
