RF Test Engineer (Space)

Location: Must be based in Los Angeles, CA

What you will do

• Design and fabricate test hardware, harnessing, and systems for electrical and RF development.
• Develop modular, reusable test automation software and drivers using Linux, Python, C++, and Rust.
• Lead satellite subsystem test campaigns from kickoff through reporting.
• Develop data acquisition, control, and instrumentation systems for integrated testing.
• Design device simulators for component subsystem and hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) testbeds.
• Manage test assets and perform acceptance testing of flight avionics.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Person (citizen, green card holder, or protected individual) due to ITAR regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, computer, or relevant engineering discipline.
• 2+ years of experience with test hardware design and software management.
• Strong programming proficiency in Python, C++, and Rust.
• Experience with RF test equipment such as vector network analyzers (VNA) and spectrum analyzers.

Nice to have

• Experience with data acquisition and control systems.
• Familiarity with SMC-S-016 or MIL-STD-810 testing methods (vibration, shock, thermal).
• Experience with software-defined radio hardware development and high-speed RF data converters.
• Understanding of electrical system failure modes in space environments.
