Location: Must be based in or able to work from New York, NY or Los Angeles, CA. This is a hybrid role requiring 4 days per week in the office when not in the field.

Salary: $115,000 - $165,000 yearly

What you will do

• Develop, research, and produce original longform stories for Dateline NBC.
• Conduct extensive reporting and interviews with sources, attorneys, and law enforcement.
• Write and edit scripts, teases, and promotional materials.
• Collaborate with correspondents to shape story structure and editorial direction.
• Plan and oversee field shoots, including interviews and b-roll.
• Work with editors to craft visually compelling and accurate stories.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in longform news, documentary, investigative, or true crime programming.
• Demonstrated experience managing productions and budgets from development through post-production.
• Strong writing and storytelling skills with exceptional editorial judgment.
• Experience conducting sensitive interviews with victims, families, and law enforcement.
• Must be willing to work in New York, NY or Los Angeles, CA.
• Must be willing to travel domestically as needed.
