Lead Analyst (Gamedev): Leading a team of analysts to transform player behavior into actionable insights for Old School RuneScape with an accent on product strategy, player engagement, and long-term business success. Focus on developing data-driven roadmaps, enhancing game telemetry, and mentoring a team of product analysts.

Location: Hybrid (Cambridge, UK). Applicants must be based in or willing to relocate to the UK within a comfortable commuting distance of the Cambridge office.

What you will do

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Product Analysts, fostering a culture of analytical excellence.
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to influence the game roadmap and product strategy.
  • Analyze large datasets to uncover opportunities for improving player engagement, retention, and overall experience.
  • Partner with Engineering to develop and enhance game telemetry and data collection.
  • Transform complex datasets into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Champion data-driven thinking and promote analytics best practices across the game team.

Requirements

  • Experience leading or mentoring analysts in an analytics or BI environment.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with large datasets and data cleansing.
  • Demonstrable understanding of video game player behaviors, specifically within MMORPGs.
  • Familiarity with modern data platforms such as AWS, Snowflake, and OLAP technologies.
  • Experience using data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to communicate complex findings clearly.
