Salary: $6,949.92 - $9,992.50 CAD Monthly

The Centre for Disease Control ( CDC) is the academic arm of the BC Centre for Disease Control, focused on positioning science at the core of public health action.
What you will do
- Develop and implement comprehensive internal and external communication strategies aligned with research and public health priorities.
- Translate complex scientific and public health research into clear, accessible content for policymakers, practitioners, and the general public.
- Create and manage diverse communication materials including newsletters, policy briefs, impact stories, and social media content.
- Design digital narratives and multimedia formats such as videos and infographics to showcase research findings.
- Oversee the public-facing CDC website and internal SharePoint site, coordinating design and functionality modifications.
- Evaluate communication effectiveness using digital analytics and engagement metrics to optimize content performance.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
- Minimum five years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Location: Must be based in Vancouver, BC.
- Ability to write fluently and proofread accurately for English language usage, grammar, and punctuation.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, with an understanding of Indigenous history in Canada.
Nice to have
- Postgraduate degree in marketing, communications, or science.
- Experience working within a research or health environment.
- Proficiency with CMS platforms like Drupal and WordPress.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and web technologies (HTML, CSS).
- Knowledge of SEO and metadata strategies and experience with Google Analytics.
