TL;DR

Senior Business Development Manager (Telco): Identifying and securing new business opportunities within the Retail and Business Services sector with an accent on consultative selling and senior stakeholder relationship management. Focus on driving revenue growth, increasing share of wallet in existing accounts, and building a robust acquisition pipeline.

Location: Hybrid (Must be based in Manchester or Birmingham, UK; office attendance required 3 days per week)

What you will do

  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities in Retail and Business Services to drive revenue and increase market share.
  • Build and maintain influential relationships with senior stakeholders and decision-makers to accelerate sales.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans using value-based and consultative selling methodologies.
  • Create and manage a robust acquisition pipeline using market intelligence and competitor analysis.
  • Collaborate with Account Managers and Marketing teams to refine value propositions and engagement strategies.
  • Act as a brand ambassador to deliver exceptional customer experiences and drive long-term revenue growth.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of winning major acquisition business with corporate customers.
  • Expertise in value-based and consultative selling.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to qualify complex opportunities.
  • Experience in stakeholder mapping and managing complex buying decisions.
  • Ability to analyze market segments and whitespace to guide pipeline development.
  • Must be based in the UK and able to work from Manchester or Birmingham offices 3 days per week.

Nice to have

  • Experience in Telco, ICT, or technology sales.
  • Specific experience working within the retail vertical.
  • Ability to assess cost-of-sale and win probability for go/no-go decisions.
  • Experience building relationships at the executive level.
