Technical Support Engineer (MIST Wired Assurance)

TL;DR

Technical Support Engineer (MIST Wired Assurance): Providing L3 technical support and resolving complex network escalations for enterprise campus and cloud networks with an accent on networking architectures and switching technologies. Focus on troubleshooting high-impact network problems and collaborating with product teams to drive resolutions for critical customer issues.

Location: Hybrid (Expectation to work on average 2 days per week from an HPE office)

What you will do

• Manage and resolve customer-reported issues, taking full ownership of technical escalations until resolution.
• Lead critical and high-priority customer escalations and manage stakeholder communication.
• Collaborate closely with product and escalation teams to drive technical closures.
• Contribute to knowledge creation and participate in continuous improvement and training initiatives.
• Mentor team members and support business requirements, including flexibility for weekends or holidays if needed.

Requirements

• 5 to 8 years of experience in technical support for enterprise, campus, or cloud networks.
• Expertise in Networking Architectures & Switching (xSTP, VRRP, LACP, Dot1x, COS, Multicast).
• Strong knowledge of IP Protocols including ARP, ICMP, TCP, UDP, DNS, and DHCP.
• Understanding of 802.11x standards, POE, and Multi chassis architectures.
• Proficiency with Data Center protocols such as EVPN, VxLAN, BGP, and OSPF.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for customer-facing interactions.

Nice to have

• Scripting proficiency in Python or Shell.
• Hands-on experience with Cloud Solutions.
• Industry certifications such as CCIE or JNCIE.
