What you will do
- Develop manufacturable wafer processes to achieve critical dimensions and geometry for nanometer-scale recording heads.
- Own wafer process modules and manage experiments and tracking to meet strict project schedules.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver advanced writers with optimized magnetic, electrical, and thermo-mechanical performance.
- Perform hands-on investigation and resolution of process issues with frequent factory-floor presence.
- Interact with design and product teams to align process development with performance requirements (CTQs).
- Facilitate the technology transfer of developed processes to the production team.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Computer Engineering, Materials, Physics, or Information Technology.
- Experience: Bachelor's (5+ years), Master's (3+ years), or PhD.
- Industry experience or deep knowledge in semiconductor fabrication.
- Location: Must be based in or able to work on-site in Bloomington, MN, US.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and high attention to detail.
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with vacuum or thin film technologies (Ion-mill, ICP, IBD, CVD, MBE, ALD).
- Fundamental understanding and application of plasmonics.
- Prior experience working in a clean room environment.
