Company

hirify.global is a Series C startup developing mass-producible, inherently safe microreactors for terrestrial, underwater, and space applications.

What you will do

  • Develop, integrate, test, and qualify nuclear measurement and instrumentation-and-control systems with Nuclear, Mechanical, Electrical, Software, and Controls teams.
  • Design, build, and operate hardware-in-the-loop platforms and automated test stands.
  • Develop and execute tests for neutron detectors, measurement electronics, thermocouples, resistance temperature detectors, pressure transducers, and other reactor instrumentation.
  • Perform sensor characterization, calibration, accuracy, response-time, signal-integrity, stability, and drift testing.
  • Execute environmental qualification testing involving radiation, thermal, vacuum, vibration, shock, and representative operating conditions.
  • Analyze test data, investigate anomalies, correlate results with analytical models, and document verification and qualification findings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 4+ years of experience developing, integrating, or testing instrumentation and control systems in nuclear, aerospace, defense, or other high-reliability applications.
  • Hands-on experience with sensors, measurement electronics, calibration, data acquisition systems, and automated instrumentation testing.
  • Proficiency in Python for automated test execution, data acquisition, and analysis.
  • Strong technical communication skills, including writing test plans, procedures, and reports, communicating findings to multidisciplinary teams, and providing technical training.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic startup environment with high ownership and hands-on execution.
  • Ability to work long hours and weekends as necessary to support critical milestones.

Nice to have

  • Experience with neutron detectors, nuclear measurement systems, radiation-source testing, neutron detector calibration, or nuclear reactor operations.
  • Experience designing and operating thermal chambers, vacuum systems, vibration tables, shock fixtures, and radiation test facilities.
  • Experience with spaceflight hardware qualification, radiation effects on electronics, or aerospace environmental testing.
  • Experience with National Instruments, LabJack, or similar data acquisition hardware; serial and Ethernet interfaces; C/C++; or programmable logic controllers.
  • Experience developing human-machine interfaces for reactor operations, integrating instrumentation with reactor control systems, or verifying coupled sensor-electronics systems.

Culture & Benefits

  • Equity is included in the compensation package.
  • Work is performed in a new 322,000-square-foot facility supporting collaboration, R&D, and production.
  • Values include systems thinking, focus on end users, unconstrained problem-solving, meeting customers and stakeholders face to face, and operating in ambiguity.
  • Teams prioritize in-person collaboration while recognizing that deep work can be done remotely.
