TL;DR
DevOps Engineer (Python/Terraform): Building scalable automation frameworks for cloud and on-premises infrastructure with an accent on Infrastructure as Code generation, configuration management, and Windows automation. Focus on developing tested Python tools, Terraform code-generation platforms, Puppet modules, PowerShell solutions, and CI/CD integrations across hybrid environments.
Location: Hybrid in London or Southampton, United Kingdom; 2 days in the office and 3 days working remotely each week

What you will do
- Design and develop scalable Python automation frameworks for consistent infrastructure deployment across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Build Terraform code-generation platforms using Python and Jinja2 to produce validated, environment-specific Infrastructure as Code.
- Develop and maintain Puppet modules, manifests, and Hiera configurations for Linux and Windows environments.
- Create PowerShell automation for Windows Server management, Active Directory administration, and hybrid cloud integrations.
- Develop internal CLI tools, APIs, and self-service automation for common infrastructure workflows.
- Integrate infrastructure automation with CI/CD pipelines, testing, documentation, code reviews, and operational standards.
Requirements
- 5+ years of Python development experience with structured, testable application code.
- Strong knowledge of Python packaging, dependency management, code-quality tooling, CLI development, Jinja2, and pytest.
- Advanced Terraform experience, including module design, state management, remote backends, workspaces, dependency graphs, and programmatic HCL generation.
- Hands-on Puppet experience with manifests, modules, Hiera, node classification, r10k or Code Manager, and mixed Linux and Windows environments.
- Proficient PowerShell development for Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows networking, and hybrid cloud integrations.
- Solid AWS experience and familiarity with CI/CD platforms, Linux, and Windows Server in production environments.
