What you will do

• Lead the architecture, design, and development of motor and drive systems, defining requirements for torque, speed, efficiency, and acoustics.
• Select and develop motors, geartrains, encoders, sensors, and power electronics to meet product needs.
• Optimize motion control solutions for performance, noise, vibration, power consumption, and cost.
• Collaborate with embedded software and electrical teams on motor control algorithms and feedback systems.
• Drive root-cause analysis for issues related to motion quality, thermal behavior, EMC, and durability.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across mechatronic subsystem development.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to work in Lausanne, Switzerland.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in motor, actuator, or drive system development.
• Deep knowledge of DC, BLDC, and stepper motors, servo systems, and related drive architectures.
• Strong understanding of closed-loop control, feedback systems, and power electronics.
• Proven ability to work in cross-functional product development environments.

Nice to have

• Experience in consumer electronics, robotics, haptics, or precision actuation.
• Familiarity with FOC, PID control tuning, and sensorless control methods.
• Experience with low-noise/low-vibration motion system design and battery-powered systems.
• Knowledge of DFM, DFA, DFMEA, and PFMEA for high-volume manufacturing.
