Insurance Product Engineer

Location: Barcelona, Poblenou, Spain; hybrid working

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain insurance products with cross-functional teams.
• Model structured insurance products using Xmind and configure them in Advanced Product Designer.
• Gather requirements and feedback from Underwriting, Sales, Claims, customers, and other stakeholders.
• Support change management and prepare new products for implementation across the business.
• Collaborate with product and pricing teams to prioritize, plan, and execute initiatives.
• Analyze competitor products, pricing strategies, market positioning, and insurance industry trends.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of product development experience, or a high school diploma/equivalent with strong product development experience.
• Knowledge of property, casualty, and specialty insurance underwriting.
• Familiarity with underwriting guidelines, practices, standard controls, and governance.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, time management, and change management skills.

Nice to have

• 3–5 years of product development experience.
• Understanding of sales and distribution channels, including agents, brokers, facilities, MGAs, and affinity partners.
• Experience with Guidewire, Xmind, and Guidewire’s Advanced Product Designer Suite.
