Software Engineering Intern - Factory AI and Automation

Location: Onsite in Wuxi, China. Travel: None.

What you will do

• Support development, testing, and maintenance of MES applications, factory software, automation workflows, and internal digital tools.
• Contribute code, debugging, unit testing, deployment support, and technical documentation.
• Use AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot to improve delivery, testing, documentation, and problem-solving.
• Develop practical use cases involving AI, GenAI, data analytics, reporting, computer vision, and workflow automation.
• Collaborate with engineers, business users, and factory stakeholders to address operational pain points and deliver scalable digital improvements.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Information Systems, Automation, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; Master’s candidates are preferred.
• Strong interest in factory AI, GenAI, data analytics, automation, computer vision, MES, smart manufacturing, or industrial digital transformation.
• Basic programming experience in C#, .NET, Java, Python, JavaScript, or another common enterprise or factory application language.
• Basic understanding of software development, databases, SQL, debugging, testing, APIs, version control, or system integration.
• Good English communication skills are required, including the ability to read technical documentation and communicate in basic written and spoken English.
• Responsible attitude, curiosity, good communication skills, and willingness to learn and apply new technologies to factory business problems.
