Senior Full-Stack Developer & IT Maintenance Specialist

NAXCON is a German IT and engineering company based in Freiburg, working on customer projects, in-house innovation, and research and development across software, hardware, electronics, artificial intelligence, and virtual reality.

What you will do

• Maintain, support, and further develop existing live web applications.
• Develop Java backends using Spring Data or Hibernate, Apache Tomcat, and Gradle.
• Build and enhance component-based frontends with Vue.js 3, JavaScript, and charting libraries such as Highcharts.
• Design, query, and optimize relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
• Manage Git/GitLab workflows, CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, and cloud or server infrastructure.
• Install, configure, and maintain wiki or CMS platforms such as MediaWiki, Confluence, or WordPress.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Informatics, or a related technical field; equivalent Fachinformatiker Anwendungsentwicklung experience is accepted.
• 3–5 years of full-stack web application development and/or ongoing software maintenance experience.
• Hands-on experience maintaining and further developing production web applications, not only greenfield projects.
• Experience with Java, Vue.js or a comparable component-based frontend framework, PostgreSQL or another relational database, and Git/GitLab.
• Knowledge of BSI Standards 200-1 to 200-3 and experience with cloud-hosted, government, public-sector, or regulated IT environments.
• Full professional proficiency in German, written and spoken, is mandatory for the client hotline.

Nice to have

• Experience with Cisco AnyConnect VPN or secured government remote-access environments.
• Knowledge of BSI IT-Grundschutz, ISO 27001, EVB-IT contracts, or public procurement processes.
• Oracle Java Certification or ISTQB certification.
• Experience with German public-sector clients.
