What you will do

• Set architectural direction for agentic systems and define patterns for the AI engineering team.
• Design and build core components for agent orchestration, state management, and document intelligence.
• Establish evaluation and observability frameworks to measure accuracy, cost, and reliability.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to connect technical decisions to customer outcomes.
• Ensure system reliability and trustworthiness for high-stakes financial document processing.
• Mentor engineers and raise the engineering bar through design and code reviews.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building and shipping production backend systems.
• Proven track record of leading the design of complex, distributed, or high-scale systems.
• Hands-on production experience with agent orchestration frameworks (LangGraph or equivalent).
• Deep experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and event-driven architectures.
• Production experience with AWS (Lambda, SQS, S3, ECS).
• Proficiency in TypeScript and Python.
• Must be based in the United States.

Nice to have

• Depth in multi-agent coordination and RAG architectures.
• Experience with multi-tenant SaaS architecture and document intelligence (OCR, extraction).
• Background in regulated domains like tax, finance, or healthcare.
• Experience building evaluation or quality systems for LLM products.
