What you will do

• Lead a team of 10+ SDEs and an SDM, defining the operating model and establishing a culture of ownership.
• Evaluate a portfolio of inherited KTLO services to determine whether to maintain, sunset, or transfer them.
• Maintain services according to AWS operational standards, including on-call support and incident response.
• Drive structured ownership transitions from feature teams through knowledge transfer and shared ownership.
• Leverage AI-powered tooling and AWS Ops Agent to automate operations and minimize maintenance burden.
• Partner with leadership and stakeholders to negotiate service transitions and deprecation timelines.

Requirements

• 10+ years of engineering experience and 5+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 10+ years of planning, designing, developing, and delivering consumer software.
• Track record of building and operating large-scale distributed systems in a production environment.
• Experience with service lifecycle management, including deprecation and migration of legacy systems.
• Experience managing teams of 10+ engineers across multiple workstreams in an Agile environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Nice to have

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
• Deep knowledge of AWS services.
• Experience in Developer Tools, IDE/Cloud Development, or AI/ML infrastructure domains.
• Proven track record of using AI/automation to reduce operational load.
• Experience in crisis management and response.
