What you will do

• Drive technical direction and lead architecture decisions for the data platform in collaboration with Product and Design stakeholders.
• Manage and develop a team of 4–5 engineers, providing technical mentorship and fostering a product-minded culture.
• Own and evolve core data infrastructure, including the data lake, semantic layer, and data governance.
• Lead the adoption of streaming technologies (Kafka) across the engineering team.
• Implement and advance high-standard data modeling practices across the platform.
• Drive the transition toward a distributed, self-service data platform model with distributed ownership.

Requirements

• Proven experience at Staff Engineer level or equivalent within a data engineering context.
• Deep architectural understanding of data lakes, data foundations, governance, and orchestration.
• Hands-on experience with streaming technologies, specifically Kafka.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with a modern data stack.
• Experience managing large-scale datasets for B2B SaaS customer bases.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with a product-minded engineering approach.

Nice to have

• Experience with data governance for AI agents, including guardrails and access control.
• Prior exposure to self-service data platform models and distributed ownership strategies.
• Experience working within a product-led SaaS environment.
