What you will do

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement backend services and APIs.
• Develop and optimize microservices for high-performance distributed systems.
• Streamline real-time data processing and event-driven architectures using messaging queues like SQS.
• Implement RESTful APIs and server-side logic using Python and FastAPI.
• Deploy containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes in AWS cloud environments.
• Ensure system reliability through unit, integration, and load testing.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience as a backend engineer.
• Must be based in the United Kingdom.
• Strong proficiency in Python and frameworks like FastAPI or Flask.
• Expertise in microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with AWS (Lambda, Step Functions, SQS) and various databases (Snowflake, DynamoDB, RDS, MongoDB).
• Knowledge of distributed search technologies like Elasticsearch or OpenSearch.

Nice to have
