Lead Embedded Linux Engineer (Embedded Linux)

Location: San Mateo, California, United States; onsite five days per week. International travel is required twice a year.

Annual OTE: $210,000–$300,000 USD

What you will do

• Define the technical vision and architecture for the intercom product line.
• Develop intelligent cloud-managed intercom systems with rich video and two-way audio.
• Drive loosely defined product ideas through completion and deliver customer-focused product experiences.
• Own major Linux and embedded systems while solving complex engineering problems.
• Collaborate with firmware, backend, and frontend engineers.
• Teach and learn across new technologies and technical domains.

Requirements

• BS or graduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related science.
• 10+ years of Linux development experience as a software engineer.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and experience with Linux servers, device drivers, kernel patches, secure operating systems, and security-focused programming.
• Experience with Bash scripting and Yocto; familiarity with Secure Boot, Go, Python, WebRTC, distributed systems, HTTP, and practical debugging.
• Preferred experience with embedded Linux, cameras, and audio systems.
• Willingness and ability to work onsite five days per week and travel internationally twice a year.
