Routine Maintenance Highways Electrician (Street Lighting): Maintaining, inspecting, testing, and installing street lighting and highway electrical assets across the Oldham and Rochdale contract with an accent on fault finding, underground cable networks, and electrical safety. Focus on diagnosing electrical faults, carrying out periodic testing, operating across multiple sites, and supporting connections to DNO, IDNO, and PCN networks after training.
Location: Rochdale and the North West of England, with work across multiple sites and occasional support for projects in other regions.

What you will do
- Carry out routine and non-routine maintenance, installation, inspection, and repair of street lighting and highway electrical assets.
- Perform fault finding, electrical testing of private underground cable networks, and testing of individual electrical assets.
- Install and maintain electrical equipment on new and existing apparatus.
- Drive and operate company vehicles, use handheld electronic devices, and maintain accurate work records.
- Complete risk assessments, follow safety procedures, attend emergencies, and maintain productivity standards.
- Work independently and as part of a team across a wide geographic area, with opportunities to support network connections after training.
Requirements
- Level 2 and Level 3 certificates or equivalent qualifications in Highway Electrical Work, including NVQ Level 3.
- Qualifications in electrical inspection and testing, working near DNO/iDNO equipment, first aid, manual handling, G39, and BS7671:2018 electrical installations.
- Current full UK driving licence up to 3.5 tonnes; a 7.5-tonne or higher licence is preferred.
- Current IPAF licence.
- Ability to work across Rochdale, the North West of England, and multiple operational sites.
