Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Eindhoven, Netherlands (Hybrid: min. 1 day/week in office)

What you will do

• Define and own the technical strategy for infrastructure reliability, observability, and developer experience tooling.
• Lead architectural decisions across Foundation and Developer Platform teams to ensure alignment with business outcomes.
• Drive platform-wide engineering standards including IaC modules, Kubernetes patterns, and zero-trust security controls.
• Scope and lead large-scale technical initiatives such as progressive delivery rollouts and domain-based IaC restructuring.
• Mentor senior engineers and act as a force multiplier to improve collective output and engineering velocity.
• Participate in the on-call rota and serve as a senior technical presence during high-severity incidents.

Requirements

• 7+ years of hands-on engineering experience, with at least 3 years at senior or staff level in platform, infrastructure, or SRE.
• Deep AWS expertise including EKS, VPC, IAM, RDS, and ElastiCache.
• Mastery of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and production-grade Kubernetes operations.
• Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab) and progressive delivery (Argo CD/Rollouts).
• Proven track record of delivering complex, cross-team technical initiatives from framing to production.
• Strong written and verbal English proficiency for technical documentation and stakeholder communication.

Nice to have

• Experience with SaaS scale-up environments and developer experience tooling.
• FinOps awareness and cost-per-service optimization strategies.
• Knowledge of event-driven architectures (NATS, Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Experience with AI/LLM governance and security in an engineering context.
