Senior Platform Engineer (Kubernetes)

Location: Hybrid (Den Haag, Netherlands). 2 working from home days

Salary: €80,000 – €95,000 + 12% bonus

What you will do

• Drive the transition from traditional infrastructure to a modern Kubernetes-first platform engineering setup.
• Implement GitOps workflows using ArgoCD and Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform and Ansible.
• Develop internal developer platforms (IDPs) and self-service capabilities using Backstage and the Argo ecosystem.
• Manage monitoring and observability stacks including Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, and Thanos.
• Execute the migration of mission-critical workloads from VMware to Kubernetes.
• Integrate AI-assisted developer tooling and automation to improve operational efficiency.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or SRE.
• Strong production-level experience with Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform and/or Ansible.
• Experience with GitOps principles and tooling such as ArgoCD or Flux.
• Strong Linux and systems engineering fundamentals.
• Fluent English communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Backstage, the Argo ecosystem, or Crossplane.
• Experience with Azure and VMware-to-Kubernetes migrations.
• Kubernetes certifications (CKA/CKAD/CKS).
• Curiosity and experience around AI-assisted developer tooling.
