Associate, Legal Knowledge Engineering (LegalTech/AI): Developing and optimizing legal software products and machine learning algorithms for document analysis with an accent on Generative AI prompting and legal workflows. Location: Hybrid (at least 3 days on-site). Must reside within commuting distance of Austin, Boston, Chicago, Denver, New Jersey, New York City, Philadelphia, Raleigh, or Toronto.

Salary: $95,000 – $120,000 (USD) or $100,000 – $135,000 (CAD)

What you will do

• Collaborate with product, engineering, and design teams to define the vision for new legal tech features.
• Experiment with and test Generative AI and LLM prompting to optimize product capabilities.
• Develop "smart fields" and ML algorithms to extract key data points from securities and financing documents.
• Advise engineering teams on legal workflows to ensure products align with professional legal practice.
• Maintain deep expertise in the legal domain to identify new opportunities for automation and smart fields.

Requirements

• JD degree and called to the bar in at least one state or province.
• 2+ years of experience practicing transactional law (law firm, in-house, or legal service provider).
• Must be based in or within commuting distance to one of the specified office locations.
• Strong interest in artificial intelligence and legal technology.
• Exceptional attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience working in debt financing.
• Experience with legal operations, legal program management, or contract management systems.
