What you will do
- Provide academic and pre-admission advising for approximately 375 Elementary and Middle Years teacher candidates.
- Manage the student experience, coursework, and sequencing for post-baccalaureate Diploma and Certificate programs.
- Oversee dual degree programs and lead recruitment events in collaboration with various faculties and units.
- Act as the primary point of contact for students in crisis, managing conflict resolution and non-academic misconduct cases.
- Coordinate support and advising for the Indigenous Teacher Education Program (NITEP), ensuring perspectives are integrated into the curriculum.
- Lead the planning and execution of major events, including the annual B.Ed Awards and the Annual Career Fair.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
- Minimum of 4-5 years of related experience in educational administration or student services.
- Must be based in or be able to work onsite at the Vancouver Campus.
- Proven commitment to enhancing awareness and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI).
- Willingness to respect diverse perspectives, including those in conflict with one's own.
Nice to have
- Graduate degree in education.
- Extensive knowledge and familiarity with the BC school system.
- Training in EDI and experience with antiracism pedagogy.
- Proven track record in conflict management and resolution within educational settings.
- Experience with educational technologies and providing mentorship.
