TL;DR

IT Business Analyst (Fintech): Gathering and documenting functional requirements for algorithmic trading systems and execution platforms with an accent on real-time trading workflows across equities and securities financing. Focus on translating business needs into functional specifications, coordinating between trading desks and IT teams, and validating new feature delivery.

Location: Hybrid in New York City (at least 4 days onsite/week). hirify.global does not sponsor U.S. work permits or employment visas.

Salary: $110,000 - $135,000

What you will do

• Gather and document functional requirements for algorithmic trading systems and execution platforms.
• Translate business needs into clear functional specifications and use cases for development teams.
• Facilitate communication between trading desks, IT teams, and project stakeholders to ensure alignment.
• Participate in the testing and validation of new features to ensure they meet business requirements.
• Provide day-to-day user support and training as platforms evolve.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a BA in a front-office environment.
• Hands-on exposure to in-house trade execution platforms (non-HFT).
• Deep understanding of the execution lifecycle and order types across equities and/or securities financing.
• Proficiency with data analysis tools including SQL, Excel, and FIX messaging.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, IT, or a related field.
• Must possess valid US work authorization (no sponsorship provided).

Nice to have

• Experience with trading platforms such as Fidessa, Horizon, Dash Financials, or Bloomberg EMSX.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
