Data Centre Engineer (Infrastructure)

Data Centre Engineer (Infrastructure): Managing the physical build and maintenance of data center environments for global capital markets infrastructure with an accent on rack and stack, cabling, and hardware troubleshooting. Location: Onsite in Tokyo. Must be based in Tokyo and able to report to facilities within 1 hour for emergency outages.

What you will do

• Perform equipment rack and stack, including cabling, labeling, and termination of fiber and copper networks.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues, including blade, card, memory, and hard drive installations.
• Conduct cabinet and cage audits and perform inventory verification and rack elevation documentation.
• Manage shipping and receiving of internal and external packages at offices and co-locations.
• Order, install, and test cross-connects while monitoring power utilization in co-locations.
• Coordinate facility access for internal and external customers and maintain overall data center cleanliness.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience in Telecommunications or Data Centre related fields.
• In-depth knowledge of Telecom structured cabling standards, network device deployment, and DCO operations.
• Experience using industry-standard test equipment and working with Building Management Systems (BMS) and Branch Circuit Monitoring (BCM).
• Must be based in Tokyo with the ability to report to the facility within a 1-hour average for emergencies.
• Availability to work a flexible shift schedule, specifically Tuesday to Saturday (3pm to 11pm) and Saturday (8am to 5pm).
• Willingness to travel within APAC and occasionally to EMEA and AMRS on short notice.
