Optimisation Engineer (Gamedev)

What you will do

• Profile and analyze CPU and GPU workloads to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
• Define and enforce frame time, memory, and bandwidth budgets across all game systems.
• Collaborate with artists, designers, and programmers to ensure visual quality meets performance standards.
• Provide hands-on mentoring and code reviews for mid-level engineers regarding performance-sensitive coding.

Requirements

• Experience in game development across all stages from design to shipping.
• Proven track record in a performance, platform, or core technology role within the games industry.
• Strong C++ skills, including multithreading, software design patterns, and systems architecture.
• Proficiency with low-level CPU and GPU profiling tools.
• Experience working with large codebases and familiarity with various game engine architectures.
• Must be based in the UK with the Right to Work here.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of additional coding languages.
