What you will do

• Define technical strategy and product roadmap in partnership with Product and Design to translate customer needs into executable plans.
• Own the architecture and system quality for services and APIs, focusing on scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Lead design reviews, conduct code reviews, and institute engineering standards to raise the bar on quality.
• Drive delivery practices, including planning, prioritization, and incremental shipping to production.
• Establish operational excellence for production systems, covering monitoring, incident response, and reliability improvements.
• Champion secure coding practices, robust authentication, and proactive vulnerability management.

Requirements

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience with a deep foundation in distributed systems and high-availability architectures.
• Proficiency in modern JVM ecosystems, specifically Java 17+, Kotlin, and Spring / Spring Boot.
• Expert knowledge of microservices architecture and event-driven streaming systems like Kafka.
• Hands-on experience with GCP/AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and observability tools such as Splunk, Grafana, and Prometheus.
• Proven track record of building large-scale API- and integration-heavy systems in production.
• Location: Must be based in Singapore

Nice to have

• Experience in Fintech, Risk, or regulated financial domains (KYC, Onboarding, or Payments).
• Experience building complex asynchronous workflows and identity orchestration.
• Familiarity with integrating AI and LLMs into products.
• Polyglot experience with Scala, Javascript, Python, or Golang.
