What you will do
- Build and maintain real-time test and control applications on NI cRIO, PXI, and DAQ using LabVIEW, VeriStand, and Python.
- Interface with subsystems via CAN bus, EtherCAT, Modbus, and TCP/IP from bring-up through fault diagnosis.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical faults including voltage/current ripple, transient noise, EMI, and grounding failures.
- Lead grounding architecture reviews and remediation to prevent high-voltage ground faults from affecting low-voltage systems.
- Utilize oscilloscopes and signal conditioning hardware to characterize and isolate electrical anomalies.
- Own ongoing support for delivered test systems, including software updates, bug fixes, and in-field troubleshooting.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent hands-on industry experience.
- Proven experience developing real-time applications on NI cRIO and PXI platforms using LabVIEW.
- Hands-on experience with CAN bus, EtherCAT, Modbus, and TCP/IP in deployed real-world systems.
- Proficiency in Python for test automation, data analysis, and tooling.
- Electrical background in grounding architecture and oscilloscope-based fault diagnosis in mixed voltage environments.
- Experience with version control (Git) and structured software development practices.
Nice to have
- NI Certified LabVIEW Developer (CLD) or Architect (CLA).
- Experience in aerospace, EV powertrain, motor drive, or power electronics test environments.
- HIL or real-time validation experience with NI, dSPACE, or Speedgoat.
- Familiarity with NI SystemLink, DIAdem, or TestStand.
- Knowledge of EtherNet/IP, LIN, RS-232/485, or Electrical CAD tools like EPLAN and AutoCAD Electrical.
