Staff Mobile Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Singapore, Melbourne, or San Francisco

Salary: $180,000–$300,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Define and evolve shared architecture for native iOS and Android applications, including navigation, state management, networking, offline strategies, and error handling.
• Own shared mobile libraries and frameworks for design systems, analytics, feature flags, experimentation, authentication, payments, and observability.
• Improve mobile security, reliability, performance, and observability through anti-tampering, certificate pinning, platform metrics, logging, tracing, and crash reporting.
• Own mobile CI/CD pipelines, developer tooling, release workflows, and operational processes across iOS and Android.
• Lead cross-team technical initiatives, align engineers and product stakeholders, and drive adoption of architectural changes.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership through coding, design reviews, mentoring, hiring, and mobile engineering standards.

Requirements

• 8–10+ years of experience building native mobile applications on iOS or Android, including 3+ years at Senior or Staff level.
• Deep expertise in iOS technologies including Swift, SwiftUI, Combine, and async/await, or Android technologies including Kotlin, AndroidX, Jetpack, Coroutines, and Hilt, with commercial knowledge of both platforms.
• Experience leading cross-team technical initiatives and evolving mobile architectures, including modularisation, design systems, networking, or offline support.
• Strong code quality, testability, maintainability, automated testing, and reliability practices.
• Experience owning mobile CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions or Bitrise, including build optimisation, test stability, and release workflows.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience defining mobile platform roadmaps and owning shared libraries or frameworks used by multiple product teams.
• Hands-on experience with mobile design systems, analytics, experimentation, feature flagging, and observability tools such as Crashlytics or Sentry.
• Experience in payments, fintech, or B2B SaaS where reliability, security, and regulatory requirements are critical.
• Experience mentoring senior engineers, contributing to hiring, or demonstrating thought leadership in mobile architecture.
