TL;DR

(Associate) Director, Commercial Risk Strategy: Build and lead the first line commercial risk function for hirify.global with an accent on defining commercial risk strategy, supportability frameworks, and deal/portfolio governance. Focus on translating risk appetite into commercial playbooks, running always-on portfolio monitoring, and leading incident post-mortems to ensure sustainable, risk-commensurate revenue.

What you will do

  • Define and manage the 1st LoD commercial risk strategy and supportability frameworks, including structured guidance and sign-off on deal documentation before 2nd line escalation.
  • Translate 2nd line risk appetite and policies into actionable commercial playbooks and embed risk ownership into deal reviews, pipeline calls, and quarterly business reviews.
  • Build capability for front-office teams by designing training and tools, and own commercial conduct risk accountability by identifying misaligned sales practices or incentives.
  • Design and execute continuous portfolio monitoring with Data and Regional RevOps teams, tracking metrics such as GP-to-risk ratios, risk tiers, fraud/loss rates, and revenue concentration.
  • Lead incident management through post-mortems, root-cause analysis, 1st LoD remediation, and governance/regulatory/audit representation from the commercial risk perspective.
  • Serve as the strategic interface between GTM teams, the CRO, and 2nd/3rd line compliance functions, and recruit/develop a team to scale coverage globally.

Requirements

  • 10–12 years of risk management experience in financial services, with significant time in 1st line or business-aligned roles interfacing with front-office or Sales.
  • Deep expertise in at least two areas: credit and portfolio risk, payments or merchant risk, operational and conduct risk, or enterprise risk.
  • Proven track record designing and implementing practical risk frameworks that materially influence commercial strategy within a Three Lines of Defense (3LoD) model.
  • Strong analytical data literacy to define KPIs, interrogate dashboards, and balance quantitative metrics with qualitative business judgment.
  • Exceptional communication skills to translate complex risk concepts into clear commercial language and handle “risk vs. revenue” discussions with senior stakeholders.

Nice to have

  • Experience in high-growth, product-led fintech environments (payments, issuing, FX, or modern banking).
  • Familiarity with global regulatory and scheme frameworks for B2B fintech, including KYC/AML, sanctions, card network rules, and data privacy.
  • Experience designing portfolio early-warning indicators, concentration limits, and stress testing.
