TL;DR

Health Consultant (Policy): Conducting evaluations, impact assessments, and research for European Commission bodies with an accent on public health and social policy. Location: Must be physically located in Belgium by Day 1 and possess the legal right to work in Belgium (sponsorship available on a case-by-case basis).

What you will do

• Conduct desk research and policy mapping at EU and Member State levels.
• Coordinate qualitative data collection, including stakeholder interviews and focus groups.
• Analyze qualitative and quantitative data using tools like Excel and SPSS.
• Draft client-ready reports, evidence summaries, and technical inputs for proposals.
• Support project coordination and stakeholder engagement through meetings and workshops.
• Synthesize research findings into practical recommendations for EU institutions.

Requirements

• English: C1+ required, plus proficiency in another EU language.
• University degree in social sciences, economics, public policy, or related fields.
• Four years of professional experience in evaluations, impact assessments, or applied research.
• Demonstrated ability to draft clear, structured client-ready outputs.
• Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel and experience with statistical software like SPSS.
• Must be legally authorized to work in Belgium and physically located there by start date.

Nice to have

• Experience in thematic areas covered by DG SANTE, HaDEA, ECDC, EFSA, EU-OSHA, or DG EMPL.
• Advanced statistical analysis skills.
